DVD Video Brochures VHS video brochures – or sample reels – have traditionally been a terrific way to get the word out there about your talents or business. Today, however, the VHS format may limit your effectiveness in reaching marketing goals. You have to arrange your material to fit the time specifications of the event as well as addressing and promoting the subject matter pertaining to the group’s interest. Ideally, your video brochure will be watched at many events by many groups of potentially intrigued people. How do you organize the clips when time constraints of the events and the focus of these audiences will surely vary? It’s difficult to make one perfect VHS video brochure that will sell your diverse range of talents to diverse groups. You can easily spend too much time and money deciding over video clip selection and order. Generally, a video brochure should be a maximum-length 10-15 minute marketing tool that aims at generating a 700-800% return on investment. But this becomes difficult, time-consuming and costly considering that you may need to make several different, targeted videos to sell yourself to a range of prospective groups or clients. Upgrading to DVD-style video marketing brochures is an excellent way to do just that. DVD allows for a whole new approach to marketing yourself or your business with advanced video technology. DVDs can provide instant access to different collections of materials through interactive menus. Rather than making several VHS video brochures for different audiences, you can put multiple presentations on a single DVD and program one or two selections that best suit your audience from the menu. Your possibilities with menu selection and interactivity are virtually endless. Interactivity Equals Flexibility Imagine four buttons on a screen for a viewer to choose. One button could be “Speaking Clips.” Other buttons could be “Testimonials,” “Interviews” or “TV Appearances.” Each of these buttons would take the viewer to yet another screen with even more choices leading to 4-5 minute clips. Titles of these selections could be the names or topics of your clips. With the push of a button, the presentation can instantly be customized to fit the time and information needs of the specific audience. Why DVD and Not CD ROM Why use a DVD instead of a CD ROM? CD ROMs can offer the same options, but on a smaller level. CD ROMs have approximately 45 minutes of good-quality video space (700MB), whereas DVDs have up to 2 hours of comparatively superior-quality space (4GB) depending on the quality of the compression. In short, you can fit many more clips – plus the added benefits of interactive menus and a greater degree of picture/sound quality on a DVD. Choose DVD Video Brochures Imagine having your marketing materials and videos on one DVD instead of many VHS tapes. Depending on quantity produced, the cost of reproduction is under $5.00 per DVD. Compare that to the cost of making new VHS brochures with printed materials for each different audience. The DVD brochure easily surpasses the VHS brochure in cost-effectiveness and selling power. The flexibility and interactivity of the DVD brochure make for an impressive and classy presentation to every possible audience.
