“Countries and communities around the world are becoming more connected. Travel is more affordable and accessible, and businesses and operating on a global scale, irrespective of how large they are.” – Liraz Postan, writer and international translator
The latest video industry market research has shown that over the past decade, anywhere between 80-percent and 91-percent of businesses have adopted video.
Most recently, the percentages of businesses, nonprofits and associations using video in some form has been hovering around 91-percent. Primeau Productions notes that there is no sign of video usage slowing down.
Whether a testimonial video posted on YouTube, an advertisement video embedded in a website, a medical procedure explainer video posted to social media or a service provider training video for employees, video usage is here to stay.
Other Trends
Going along with the rise in video usage is the rise in the accessibility of the internet. By the 2016 census, about 90-percent of U.S. households had access to the internet through personal computing, smartphones or access through libraries and schools.
On a worldwide basis, the market research service Statista showed, “In 2019, almost half of private households worldwide were estimated to have a computer at home. In developing countries, the PC penetration rate is lower with around a third of households having a computer.”
Adding one more element, post-pandemic travel, Travel+ Leisure Magazine stated (March 12, 2024): “Amex says that 2024 will be a notable year for spontaneous trips or what they’re calling ‘on-a-whim travel.’ Nearly 80 percent of travelers say they plan to take a spur-of-the-moment trip, while 44 percent of respondents even expressed a preference for a spontaneous trip instead of having all the details planned.”
However, it is not just U.S. travelers flying throughout the U.S., but foreign travelers coming to the U.S.
“According to the U.S. Travel Association, international travel is expected to increase by 15% in 2024, reaching 98% of 2019 levels, and fully recover by 2025.”
Putting it Together
All of these numbers and pieces of research strongly suggest that more people worldwide, in this ever-shrinking world, are taking to the internet, traveling to pre-pandemic levels and clearly watching and using video to make decisions.
For example. a business person or tourist visiting South Carolina within the next year is expected to contribute to the projected $24-billion in tourism revenues. That doesn’t even suggest the expenditures of visitors in the process of moving, buying or needing services in South Carolina.
If Primeau Productions was to take three random South Carolina or Georgia examples: a couple looking for a Greenville home; a foreign traveler looking for an Easley-area dentist or extending it to Georgia, parents looking for an Athens, Georgia daycare center, how would they go about locating such help?
Chances are, they would use a computer and without a doubt, they would find websites or social media sites and the videos on those sites. Video is not only powerful in its ability to get out an important message about a product or service, but comforting, professional and personal in its ability to reach out to those seeking information.
Script to screen, Primeau Productions knows how to reach people through the region’s best video production services.
