The most recent research on video marketing has been released reflecting year-end 2024. Here are some highlights on video marketing budgets to serve as a general guide.

  1. A little more than half (53%) of all companies nationwide are spending about one-third of their budgets on video. The more the amount of money spent on video marketing, the more the above percentage drops. Strangely, the researchers have found that a whopping 14% of companies surveyed (more than 1,000) have no idea how much they are spending on video! In case you are wondering, there is a sharp drop-off in those companies spending 70% or more of their budgets on video production.
  2. Studying budget projections for 2025, about 93% of all companies surveyed in 2024 plan on spending the same relative percentage on video. It is a testament to video’s power as a marketing tool.
  3. Interestingly, and another indication of video’s emerging power is that more than 60% of marketers allow video to go viral via organic search. Video gets noticed and sent and shared.
  4. This next point is interesting. In about 36% of the cases, marketing departments felt that video production was getting cheaper. 36% of marketing departments polled felt that there was essentially no change. While 28% of all marketing departments felt video was getting more expensive. This is on a nationwide basis, of course, We wonder if some of the companies in that last category weren’t among those who had no handle on video costs in past years.
